a change is a comin...
WHEE, WHEE, WHEE, WHEEEEEEEEEE!
...and I couldn't think of anybody more fitting than Maxwell the Pig to help make the announcement!
While the content of the blog will continue to include Style Boards, foodie features, product sharing, etc., I have noticed recently that I am more focused on truly enjoying life. I embrace the lovely life I already have, due primarily to the people in it, especially Mom, PaPa and C, but I am very excited for my future "good life". I am a bit fearful about where our country is headed, but we are the curators of our own lives. Here's to new adventures, new discoveries and more fabulous people...

izba spa
My fabulous beau gifted me a spa day for Christmas, and let me tell you, there is no better way to start the New Year!
The Izba Spa offers the traditional Russian Banya, massages, masks and body polishes. C and I did the Russian Banya; heat therapy and massage. The heat stress "is an effective method of removing fat-stored toxins from the body", who can't use that after the holidays?!
The Banya was amazing! Moisturized heat with aromatic essential oils, a few light swats with oak leaves and a detoxifying smear of honey. We then rinsed off in preparation for our hour massage...I didn't want it to stop.
After the treatment, we were served a lovely snack of apple and tea...then sadly we turned out into the cold. This was definitely the beginning of a New Year tradition.

new years eve
Mini carnations in the most gorgeous shade of deep red, set the mood for a delicious Mediterraneanesque dinner to bid a fond farewell to the old and welcome the new... Mussels and Chorizo in a Spicy Red Sauce, Smashed Potatoes with Smoked Salt...waited patiently for her place setting. We rung in the new with the most delicious Proseco from Cupcake, a must try!
